President of the Office of Competition and Consumer Protection

Tomasz Chróstny graduated in finance and accounting at the Warsaw School of Economics and in management and production engineering at the Warsaw University of Life Sciences. He also completed a postgraduate course at the Institute of Enterprise at the Warsaw School of Economics. During his studies, he was awarded a scholarship in industrial and mechanical engineering at the Vitus Bering University College.

He started out professional career on projects in the field of auditing financial statements of financial institutions, company valuation and detection of crime and fraud. He was also involved in making economic, market and sector analyses as well as economic forecasts.

He worked at the Chancellery of the Prime Minister, and then at the Ministry of Entrepreneurship and Technology, where he served as a director of the Department of Economic Analysis until 25 August 2019. Additionally, he was a representative of the minister competent for economy in the scientific council of the Polish Institute of Economics.

From August 26, 2019 to January 26, 2020, he was the Vice President of the Office of Competition and Consumer Protection.

He has teaching and academic experience as he is a university teacher at the Warsaw School of Economics. He is married and has four children.

The Prime Minister appointed Tomasz Chróstny as the President of the Office of Competition and Consumer Protection on the 27th of January 2020.

Dr. Daniel Mañkowski - doctor of law, legal advisor, legislator with over ten years of professional experience. A graduate of the Faculty of Law and Administration of the University of Warsaw and the Legislative Application of the Government Legislation Center.
 
He has been associated with public administration for many years. Since 2018, Director of the Legal Department of the Office of Competition and Consumer Protection, where he supervised proceedings and court cases conducted by the Office of Competition and Consumer Protection and coordinated the legislative activities of the Office. He co-created, among others: amendments to the Act on Competition and Consumer Protection, the Act on Counteracting Unfair Use of Contractual Advantage in Trading in Agricultural and Food Products and the Act on Counteracting Excessive Delays in Commercial Transactions. He was awarded the Honorary Badge of the Prime Minister for his services to legislation.
 
He actively represented the Office of Competition and Consumer Protection at the international level. He participated in a number of conferences, projects and official meetings with competition and consumer protection authorities, including: from Spain, Portugal, France, Czech Republic, Hungary, Armenia, Georgia, Moldova and Azerbaijan.
 
Academic lecturer honored by the Rector of the University of Warsaw. Active researcher in the field of competition and consumer protection legislation and law, cooperating with several universities.
