- Another Polish Aid workshop was held on 4-6 November in Chisinau.
- The meetings were addressed to the experts from the antitrust authorities of Moldova and Ukraine.
- Practical aspects of the application of competition law were discussed.
The 3-day workshop in Chisinau is another event organized by UOKiK within the framework of the project “Institutional support of the antitrust authorities of Moldova and Ukraine in the development of the competition protection system.” It was financed from the funds of the development cooperation program “Polish Aid” of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Poland.
The general idea of the project is to provide Moldovan and Ukrainian experts with practical knowledge in the application of national and EU competition law, and thus, above all, to familiarize them with the most interesting cases conducted by the Office, as well as with the daily challenges faced by the Polish antitrust authority. In addition, this cooperation is expected to contribute to supporting both beneficiaries in the process of reform and rapprochement with the European Union, in particular by transferring the necessary know-how for the accession negotiations and the adoption of the EU acquis.
The meetings were attended by the representatives of UOKiK, Moldovan Competition Council and the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine. The topics of the panel discussions included bid-rigging, abuse of a dominant position in local markets, identification of relevant markets, advocacy and antitrust issues in digital markets. The workshop also proved to be a good opportunity to conduct practical exercises on obtaining e-evidence for the purposes of administrative proceedings.
