Vectra engaged in unfair market practices that violated the collective interests of consumers. Despite earlier actions by the President of UOKiK, the company continued to unilaterally amend the provisions of successive contracts and unjustifiably increased subscription fees for television and internet services.

The President of UOKiK has repeatedly questioned improperly implemented changes to contracts and is constantly eliminating such practices.

President of UOKiK, Tomasz Chróstny, has imposed a fine of over PLN 25 million on T-Mobile Polska. Advertisements of the mobile phone operator including the slogan “1200 GB for free for a year” were misleading for consumers. To take advantage of the offer, consumers had to recharge their pre-pad cards with minimum PLN 35 per month.

Vectra provides, among other things, cable TV and Internet access services. Before 11 May 2020, some of the promotional offers on the basis of which Vectra entered into agreements with subscribers provided for the automatic activation of antivirus software under the name "Safe Internet”.

President of UOKiK has pressed charges to UPC Polska, the company is at risk of a fine of up to 10% of its turnover. UPC customers have been charged with a fee for additional TV channels and a higher Internet speed despite the fact that they had not ordered those services. New services should be rendered upon a request or upon a previous consent of consumers.
