Renting a scooter takes just a few minutes, but the consequences of accepting the terms and conditions can affect consumers for much longer. The President of UOKiK has challenged the provisions of the standard contracts for the hire of scooters and electric bikes used by Bolt Operations OÜ.
A shop may tempt customers with offers and promotions, but when UOKiK asks for the basis of its advertising messages, the business has a duty to respond. The President of UOKiK has accused Panek of using unfair contractual terms that may impose excessive financial liability on consumers in relation to hired vehicles. He has also imposed a fine of over PLN 3.7 million on the company for failing to provide information during the preliminary investigation.

There is a penalty of up to 10% of turnover for the violation of collective consumer interests.
Travelplanet.pl misled consumers by displaying out-of-date or incomplete trip prices on its website. The President of UOKiK has imposed a fine of nearly PLN 650,000 on the company.

The President of UOKiK challenged, among others, provisions that made it difficult to get a refund for an event cancelled by the company and left attendees uncertain whether their handbag or other item would be considered prohibited “luggage”.

The President of UOKiK has examined how the Biedronka and Lidl retail chains present information on discounts applied on checkout screens and receipts.
The absence of any price information, price lists, pre-discount prices, or prices per litre or kilogram – these were the most common findings of the Trade Inspection Authority in stores. Inspectors checked over 460,000 products and 3,000 businesses. Every other establishment provided incorrect price information.

The President of UOKiK has issued decisions regarding tuition fee increases during the course of study. Changes to fees for continuing students were prohibited until 2023. SWPS University in Warsaw and Lublin University of Technology must refund students any amounts that exceeded the tuition fees agreed upon when the contract was signed.
