Payment backlogs – new decisions and soft recommendations

In the past three months, President of UOKiK issued 20 decisions on payment backlog cases. Since the beginning of the year, 50 decisions have been issued while the total amount of fines imposed has been more than PLN 33 million. In the fight against payment backlogs, President of UOKiK also uses soft measures. This means that he informs entrepreneurs of some irregularities spotted and the need to improve payment discipline - more than 100 entities have already received such letters.

President of UOKiK, Tomasz Chróstny, has issued two conditional decisions. Gemini Polska may take over the companies: Apteka [Pharmacy] Wrzeszcz and Apteka Trójmiasto upon condition of selling three pharmacies. By dint of this, competition in local markets in Gdańsk, Starogard Gdański and in Suwałki will not be impaired.

President of UOKiK has found that Aforti Holding which had induced people to invest in the “Promissory Notes Offer" has violated the law. This is another measure taken by President of UOKiK in the alternative investment market. Aforti Holding is to pay more than 790,000 in fines for misleading consumers.
