In 2025, the President of UOKiK issued 900 decisions in the field of competition and consumer protection. He imposed PLN 1.15 billion in fines. Last year saw consistent action on price transparency, unfair practices in the financial sector, and interventions in cases of market collusion. The Supreme Audit Office gave a positive assessment of UOKiK’s activities.
The event summarised two projects in the field of consumer protection. The meetings took place in Warsaw and Bydgoszcz on 12–14 November 2025.
UOKiK co-chairs two International Competition Network working groups. The Polish Competition Authority participates in activities that promote consensus building and convergence towards common competition policy principles in the global antitrust community.
The aim of the project is the responsible implementation and use of artificial intelligence in consumer protection. The project will last one year and will cover four thematic modules.
The LexCultura Foundation has been granted the right to bring action in group proceedings in cases involving practices that violate the general interests of consumers. In court proceedings, it will be able to demand that the entrepreneur cease and desist unlawful activities and provide specific benefits to consumers.
The UOKiK expert mission to Yerevan marked the second event delivered within this year’s assistance project for Armenia. The training sessions focused on the latest EU regulations and current market challenges.
We are waiting for master’s theses on competition and consumer protection, written in Polish or English. The main prize is PLN 7,000, publication of the thesis, and a paid graduate internship.
The new project was launched with a study visit of Armenian experts to Poland from 14-23 September. Representatives of the Armenian Competition and Consumer Protection Commission visited the headquarters and regional offices of UOKiK as well as the Provincial Inspectorates of Trade Inspection (WIIH).
The Supreme Audit Office (NIK) thoroughly examined the activities of UOKiK in the years 2020–2025. Auditors analysed more than 20,000 pages of documents, confirming the reliability of the Competition Authority’s actions.
A study visit by experts from Peru launched a new TAIEX project implemented by the Office of Competition and Consumer Protection (UOKiK). The meetings were held in Warsaw and Poznań on 15–17 September 2025.
